Here is how our computers are used in real-time at the trough level in refinery tankhouses:

Current Variation & Cell Voltage Monitoring: High-resolution sensors scan every individual trough to track electric current & voltage, detecting short-circuits caused by anode-cathode contact.

Control: Specialized software logs these readings, alerting operators to adjust Current Density to maintain strict Faraday's Law efficiencies.

Electrolyte Volume & Composition Monitoring: Computers pull data from inline analyzers (like the Mipac Copper Monitor) to continually measure copper ion & sulfuric acid concentrations, as well as additive levels like thiourea.Control: Based on these readings, the computer signals variable-speed dosing pumps and valves to precisely optimize the fluid's composition.

Temperature Regulation Monitoring: Thermocouples immersed in the troughs feed real-time temperature profiles back to the operations laptop.Control: If the temperature dips below the optimal range, the system triggers the central heating exchangers to heat up the circulating electrolyte and reduce electrical resistance.

Timing & Production Cycles Monitoring: Digital dashboards log the exact duration of the deposition cycle for each cell.

Control: The system determines when a trough requires a crane intervention (such as the Outotec Tankhouse Cranes) to lift and extract the heavy, finished cathodes.
